RSCPCR Mandate

The Rajasthan Commission for Protection of Child Rights (RSCPCR), under Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, is mandated to:

  • To look into complaints or take suo motu notice of the cases involving violation of constitutional and legal rights of the children;
  • To review the existing laws and suggest amendments therein, if considered necessary;
  • To monitor implementation of laws and programme relating to the survival, welfare and development of children;
  • To examine and review the safeguards provided by any law for the protection of child rights and recommend measures for their effective implementation in the best interest of the children;
  • To study and monitor all matters relating to constitutional and legal rights of children;
  • To look into matters relating to children in need of special care and protection, including children in distress, marginalized and disadvantaged children, juveniles, children without family, children of prisoners and children in conflict with law etc. and recommend appropriate remedies;
  • To undertake and promote research in the field of child rights;
  • To inspect or cause to be inspected any juvenile custodial home or any other place of residence or institution meant for children, under the control of the Central Government or any State Government or any authority including any institution run by a social organization, where children are detained or lodged for the purpose of treatment, reformation or protection and take up with concerned authorities for remedial action, if found necessary;
